In the next lesson, we started to be shown how to sub-component edit models, which I already knew about while doing Nextgen.
This task was to show us how to split models up as well as combine them using Mesh Combine to create a hand.
So I havent posted for a while to this blog as I have been working non-stop at my current job to save up in time to move to university to study Computer Animation at Teesside University!
Its been a massive eye opener moving away from home into my own home rather than in the accommodation provided through the university, which means paying for a lot of “adult stuff” like dreaded bills and other things.
But its been a great experience to say at the least, apart from going to try to do something and realising you dont have a specific item to do that thing, and having to go all the way back into town just to buy it. (forgot to pack a tin opener for when I moved in, so couldnt open any cans for the first few days)
I moved in relatively early into the term compared to others, 1st September, to try and get used to the local area and living away from home before starting uni, and this has given me plenty of time to adjust to things, apart from the fact that there is always as we call it “Roof Dog”.
Every morning through my window, there seems to be someones Pitbull on the roof of the house opposite us, and we still cant get used to the fact that, theres a dog on a roof??
The first week of uni was pretty much just giving away free stuff to freshers, which I ended up with bags of stuff, and then trying to get them to go to the bars and get drunk, which isnt my thing so just ignored it. However I did end up joining the Games Creation Society where they all meet up to create mini games as well as participate in game jams throughout the year!
This week was week two, but also the first week of classes starting, which at the moment have felt more like recaps sessions than anything, as they have been exactly the same as what I studied at nextgen.
I will try to post here when I can to update on my uni work.
